On sidelines of opening ceremony of investment projects of the Anzali Free Zone , Hojjatullah Abdul Maliki said Martyr President paid special attention to free and special economic zones, and emphasized that the most important point in development of free and special economic zones is increase of investment in these zones and ordered to realize multiple growth in investment in these zones so that these zones become their main place as driving engine of economic growth and progress of country.
He stated that last year we had 133 thousand billion Tomans of investment, Abdul Maleki clarified that have been planned for this year with cooperation of managing directors of free and special economic zones, 400 thousand billion Tomans of investment.

He emphasized that realized investment is not a memorandums and contracts, but what is sitting on ground and we are here for inauguration of two important investment projects in government of Ayatollah Dr. Shahid Raisi, these two projects are completion of wharf No. 3 of Caspian Port complex in Anzali Free Zone with an approximate capacity of 450,000 tons of unloading and loading per year, worth about 500 billion Tomans. 70% of this project has been completed in this government and today it officially started its activity with mooring Unloading and loading of ships.
Adviser to the president and secretary of Supreme Council of Commercial, Industrial and Special Economic Free Zones stated: second project is building 4 fuel tanks and liquid products with an investment value of 180 billion Tomans was put into operation and 100% of these four tanks of liquid products were started and finished in this government and were put into operation today.
With seriousness and cooperation of officials and various departments of free and special economic zones we tried to turning free and special economic zones into the driving engine of country's economy, so in less than 3 years and activity of 13th government, investment realized in the free and special economic zones was about 300 thousand billion Tomans equivalent to 450 million Euros, but projects that have been converted into contracts and are being implemented last year have grown almost 3.5 times compared to previous year.
Abdul Maliki said: projects that were started last year in comparison to 2022 has raised Seven and half times, so in this years of 2024 and first half of 2024, we will witness for opening of large number of projects in free and special economic zones.
