By order of Dr. Mohammad Mokhbar, Acting President, and with arrival of first freight train, national plan to connect railway to Caspian port complex of Anzali Free Zone, reported public relations and international affairs management of Anzali Free Zone Organization.

In this event last section of Qazvin, Rasht railway was put into operation at Caspian port complex station were attended Minister of Roads and Urban Development, governor of Gilan, chairman of the board of directors and managing director of Anzali Free Zone Organization and national and provincial managers.

The aforementioned infrastructure project which was emphasized by martyred president was made in 37 km long from Pirbazar station in Rasht to Anzali Azad Zone was completed by Ministry of Roads and Urban Development and with cooperation of this organization with cost of 30 thousand billion Rials in five and a half years.

This national plan which has many international achievements for economic and transit diplomacy of our country, connect northern and southern seas of Iran by railway, completed transportation infrastructure to activate North-South Corridor and development of transit activities in East and West Asia, and also create opportunities to expand the relations of the Caspian Sea countries and the Eurasian Economic Union with southern border of the Persian Gulf.
