Hadi Haghshenas, Governor of Gilan, at the "Iran Jan" cultural-social event emphasized on need for change approach from "back to the sea" to "facing the sea, Reported Public Relations and International Affairs Department of Anzali Free Zone Organization;
Governor of Gilan pointed to transit challenges in southern routes of country and said "Although restrictions imposed by the enemies on trade in the Persian Gulf region have created problems, but today more than 100 Iranian ships are active in this sea which show strategic change."
The unique advantages of Caspian Port
Dr. Haghshenas while appreciated infrastructure created in the Anzali Free Zone stated that : "As someone who has worked in the Ports Organization for years, I emphasize that Caspian Port is exceptional among country's ports due to its appropriate depth and good design in the sea, So software and hardware capacities have been provided for development of trade in the north, and government has also paved the way for businessmen by facilitating administrative procedures for importing goods through this route."
Governor of Gilan emphasized on importance of completing the North-South Corridor and said: railway infrastructure is available up to Anzali Free Zone and connecting railway from Rasht to Astara is also being pursued rapidly, so by completing of this project railway connection from southern ports to the Caspian Sea will be completed and one of most important transit path in the region will be formed."
Leap in Gilan's Tourism Industry
In another part of his speech, Haghshenas pointed to the significant development of accommodation infrastructure and said: While Gilan had only one five-star hotel in previous years, now number of five-star hotels has increased and 20 four- and five-star hotels are under construction, so our goal in developing tourism industry is not simply to build modern hotels, but to preserve cultural heritage and local ecosystems, because the Iranian people prefer untouched and authentic nature of Gilan to many luxury complexes.
